Football stars and clubs have paid tribute to Chadwick Boseman who played T’Challa in Marvel’s Black Panther.
His death came as a huge shock to everyone in the world, due to the impact he made with the movies he starred in.
The movie everyone knows him for is Black Panther, which has also made a huge impact in the world of football, as footballers have celebrated goals by doing the “Wakanda Forever” sign.
The most prominent of the Black Panther celebrations in football was done by Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, when he scored against Rennes in the Europa League in March 2019.
Some football fans have even asked that Aubameyang repeats that celebration in honour of Chadwick when he scores against Liverpool in the FA Community Shield later today.
Ghana’s Michael Essien and Asamoah Gyan are among footballers who took to social media to pay their respects to Chadwick.
Others who also paid tributes include PSG’s Kylian Mbappe, Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, Chelsea’s new signing Malang Sarr, Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who we all hope will score and put on the Black Panther mask in honour of Chadwick Boseman.
