The death of American actor, Chadwick Boseman, who played T’Challa in Marvel’s Black Panther, has come as a shock to everyone around the world.
Chadwick died of cancer aged 43.
According to a statement released on social media, Chadwick died at home with his wife and family by his side.
“Chadwick was diagnosed with III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV.”
“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much… all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy.”
“It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther,” his family said in the statement.
Jordan Peele described Chadwick’s death as a “crushing blow”.
Issa Rae also tweeted: “This broke me”
Marvel Studios which created Black Panther indicated that Chadwick’s legacy will live on forever.
