Facebook Launches A Shop Tab In Its App, Just Like Instagram

Facebook

In yet another push for its e-commerce side of the business, Facebook has now launched a new Shop tab providing a convenient and accessible retail experience directly on its app. “Facebook Shop makes it easy for people to find products from businesses they love, discover new ones and make purchases, all in one place,” reads an announcement from the social media platform. The feature previously launched on Facebook’s other property Instagram back in May, and have since been testing in the U.S., with a global launch coming soon.

On top of this, Mark Zuckerberg‘s company will also be expanding on two existing features. The first will be Facebook Shops, also introduced in May earlier this year, which allows businesses to create virtual storefronts on both Facebook and Instagram to sell products. The updates to this feature include new customization options, direct messaging, and various insight and analytics tools. WhatsApp communication between consumers and stores will soon be supported, as well as a Live Shopping feature where retailers can live stream sessions to present their offerings.
