Bayern Munich won the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League after beating Paris Saint-Germain in the final at Lisbon on Sunday, August 23, 2020.
Former PSG player Kingsley Coman scored the only goal of the game for Bayern Munich to hand them their sixth UEFA Champions League title.
With the 2019/20 Champions League over now, we would like to look at African players who have scored crucial goals for their clubs in finals of the UEFA Champions League.
The African goalscorers in the finals of the Champions League are from 5 different African countries: Algeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Egypt.
Here are the five Africans who have scored in finals of the UEFA Champions League:
Rabah Madjer (Algeria)
Rabah Madjer scored a brilliant backheel to hand FC Porto a 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich in the 1987 UEFA Champions League final (then known as the European Cup).

Samuel Eto’o (Cameroon)
Samuel Eto’o scored two goals in finals of the UEFA Champions League for Barcelona.
He scored his first goal against Arsenal in the 2005/06 final and the second against Manchester United in the 2008/09 final.
He won the man of the match award in the 2005/06 final.
Didier Drogba (Ivory Coast)
Didier Drogba was the main guy for Chelsea when they beat Bayern Munich in the 2012 final of the UEFA Champions League.
He scored Chelsea’s equaliser in the 88th minute to send the game to extra time and eventually into a penalty shootout which he scored the winning penalty to hand Chelsea their first UEFA Champions League trophy.
Drogba won the man of the match award for his amazing performance.
Sadio Mane (Senegal)
Sadio Mane got Liverpool’s only goal in the 2018 final of the UEFA Champions League which they lost to Real Madrid.
Real Madrid won the game 3-1.
Mohamed Salah (Egypt)
Mohamed Salah scored for Liverpool from the penalty spot after 106 seconds against Tottenham in the 2018/19 final.
Liverpool went on to win the game by 2-0, to clinch their sixth UEFA Champions League title.
