COVID-19: Ghana’s Active Cases Now 1,723 With 5 New Deaths

Ghana’s COVID-19 cases have gone up again after 166 new infections were recorded.

The total case count now stands at 43,260, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service disclosed at a press briefing on Thursday, August 20, 2020.

He indicated that new cases were reported from 36 districts in 5 regions of the country.

The death toll has also increased to 261 after 5 more persons succumbed to the disease.

However, 313 more persons have recovered from COVID-19 as the total number of recovery/discharged cases rose to 41,276.

The 313 recoveries have caused the number of active cases to reduce to 1,723.

The Ghana Health Service further indicated that 5 persons are in a critical condition, 3 are on ventilators, and 14 are in severe condition.
