COVID-19: Ghana Records 340 New Cases And 9 New Deaths

Ghana’s COVID-19 cases have increased to 42,993, after 340 new cases were recorded.

The Ghana Health Service confirmed this in an update on Tuesday, August 18, 2020.

The update also indicated that 9 more persons have succumbed to the disease, taking the death toll to 248.

However, the total number of recovery/discharged cases have also increased to 40,796, after 229 more persons recovered the disease since the last update on August 16.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases currently stand at 1,949.

The North East, Savannah, Upper East, and the Upper West Regions have no active cases of COVID-19.

The Ghana Health Service further indicated that 6 persons are in a critical condition, 3 are on ventilators, and 16 are in severe condition.
