So I got the whole weekedn to listen to Burna Boy’s album extensively. I still haven’t changed my mind about it being a great album and this time, I’m here to tell you my Top 5 songs off the album.

From Number 5 to the Number 1 song, these were my picks!

#5 – Way Too Big

The first night the album dropped, anyone who knows me knows I couldn’t get enough of Way Too Big and it’s all because of that electric guitar interlude towards the end. It gave me rock music vibes and I’m a sucker for rock! I felt it was so dope how that was in.

#4 – Onyeka (Baby)

I love Onyeka because of the production…the drums, the trumpets, lol I loved it. I think Onyeka is a song that would have made it on the African Giant album easily.

#3 – Naughty By Nature

I have seen a lot of bad reviews on this song by fans on social media and I am so hurt because this song is one of the best from the project! One, he featured Naughty By Nature, a hip-hop duo that are in history as one of the biggest Hip-hop acts in the 80s and 90s. The best part of the whole song for me was the fact that Burna Boy sampled their hit song Jamboree!! The rap style and the fact that he was sampling their own song made me very nostalgic!

Ps: I’m not even that old to have experienced their era!

#2 – Time Flies ft Sauti Sol

Maybe it’s because the Kenyan band, Sauti Sol was featured but this song is the most beautiful song on the album. It’s almost spiritual and all the harmony… I cannot tell you how many times I’ve replayed this! The song feels very African if you get what I mean.

#1 – Monsters You Made ft Chris Martin

I told y’all I’m a sucker for rock. Monsters You Made has such a modern feel to it and I think it’s the best song on the album. The production is something else and it looks like Chris Martin took the lead in the song because it’s something Coldplay will definitely record. Personally, I think it’s ironic how Burna made the “whitest” song on the album about the evils Africans have suffered from the white men.

Special Shoutout to 23 and Alarm Clock…they also have my heart.
