Australian High Commissioner Gregory Andrews Just Gave This Ghanaian Barber A Huge Boost

Gregory Andrews, the Australian High Commissioner to Ghana

The whole idea of country ambassadors and in the case of commonwealth countries, High Commissioners, is to represent your country in the host country.

By all technicalities they are the highest ranking member of their countries government in the host country.

That is why it is essential to show up crisp and neat when you have an appointment to meet your host country’s representatives.

This adds to the huge vote of confidence that the Australian High Commissioner to Ghana, Gregory Andrews had in a local roadside barber to cut his hair.

Especially when his hair texture isn’t what most Ghanaian barbers are used to.

The High Commissioner took to Facebook to share photos of himself getting a nice cut from Ishmeal who runs a barbering shop called African Pub Hair Cut located on South Liberation Link just opposite Alliance Française.

He got the hair cut because he has an impending meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey.

“It’s actually kind of a big deal. It will be my first formal opportunity to say, “thank you for having me” to the Government of Ghana. So I want to look my best!,” he posted on Facebook.

“I am confident that I will be looking the part. Ishmael gave me a terrific haircut and had no trouble at all with my non-African hair,” he added.

That was a nice cut from Ishmeal.
