Last week we talked extensively about the characteristics of low porosity hair. If you missed it, read all about it here. This week, we are focusing on the ladies with high porosity hair.
Just so we are all on the same page, Hair porosity is a term that’s used to describe how easily your hair is able to soak up and retain moisture. Depending on this, you can have high, low or medium hair porosity.
Characteristics of high porosity hair
1. Absorbs moisture easily but doesn’t retain it
2. Very prone to breakages
4. Tangles easily
5. Hair dries really quickly
6. Always looks dull; rarely looks shiny
7. Looks and feels dry
I always advise to start caring for your hair yourself because that’s when you actually get to know what your hair is like and how it reacts to certain products and certain treatments. It’s easier looking through these characteristics and determining what porosity type your hair belongs to but if you don’t have a personal relationship with your hair, this means nothing.
