Dutch club Heracles Almelo have jokingly announced the signing of Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz.
This move by Heracles comes after Leverkusen’s manager Peter Bosz claimed that Havertz will sign for the Dutch club following their exit from the Europa League.
Leverkusen were knocked out of the competition after losing 2-1 to Inter Milan.
After the game, Bosz was asked at a press conference if Havertz had played his last game for Leverkusen.
“Yes, I can exclusively announce he’ll play for Heracles Almelo,” he answered.
Bosz’s answer spurred Heracles on to quickly create a photo of Havertz in their jersey and posted it on Twitter.
Reports indicate that Chelsea are keen on signing Havertz.
Leverkusen, however, have priced the 21-year-old £90m, but Chelsea are hoping to negotiate to reduce the fee to £70m.
