Anas Aremeyaw Anas is very happy about the impact that his latest investigative piece on COVID-19 has made.
In his latest investigative piece titled Cashing on Covid, two employees of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital – Thomas Osei, a Medicine Counter Assistant and Divine Kumordzi of the Sewing Unit of the Hospital – are seen in the video selling Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that were meant to be given to health workers for use.
The two employees have been suspended by the management of the hospital after they were implicated in the investigative piece.
Anas, however, praised the management of Ridge Hospital for taking such swift action on its staff who were involved in the corrupt act.
“If between yesterday and today, I am getting a million views on the film, then it should tell us how the public is receiving it,” he told Citi Fm.
He added: “I am very happy about it and I think the numbers are even going to grow bigger. I can clearly see the panic in the management of the Ridge Hospital on Sunday when we had not even released the documentary, they quickly issued a statement. That is what we want, we want to have the impact. We don’t have to leave our state institutions to think that nobody is watching.”
