COVID-19: Ghana Surpasses 40,000 Mark With 455 New Cases

Ghana has now recorded over 40,000 COVID-19 cases after 455 new infections were confirmed by the Ghana Health Service in its latest update on Friday, August 7, 2020.

The country’s total case count now stands at 40,097.

According to the Ghana Health Service, the 455 new cases are from samples that were taken from the period July 15 to August 3, 2020, but reported from the lab on August 4.

The update also indicated that the death toll has increased to 206 after 7 more persons succumbed to the disease.

Meanwhile, the total number of recovery/discharged cases have also gone up to 36,638, with the number of active cases currently at 3,253.

The Ghana Health Service further indicated that 7 persons are in a critical condition, 4 are on ventilators, and 25 are in severe condition.
