Ministry Of Communications Invites Applicants For The 2020 Ms. Geek App Challenge

The Ministry of Communication is inviting applicants to make submissions for an App development challenge.

The competition, which is called Ms. Geek Ghana is targeted at young ladies who develop applications.

The applicant must be between 13 and 21 years old.

They are looking to best solutions that will be selected to participate in the finals which will be a pitch session.

The finals will include a weeklong training, followed by two rounds of presentation where the top 3 shall be chosen and Ms. Geek Ghana 2020 crowned during the closing events of the summit.

Last year, Domi-Kuwornu Ama Selasi won the maiden completion and she received a cash prize of GHC 10,000, a laptop, internet connection for one year, assistance to develop concept into a prototype, and also represent Ghana at the Miss Geek Africa Competition in Guinea, Conakry.

The first runner up, Atta Abdul Karim Najilau Dramundu developed Cineplex, walked away with GHC 7,500, a laptop, one year’s internet connection, and assistance to develop a concept into a prototype, while the second runner up had GHC 5,000 plus everything else the first runner up got.

The remaining seven finalists got GHC 2,000 each.

The submission deadline for this year’s competition is Wednesday 30th September, 2020, at 5:00 p.m.
