Professor (Mrs) Rita Akosua Dickson has officially taken over from Professor Obiri Danso as the new vice-chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
She will be the vice-chancellor of KNUST for the next four years.
An investiture ceremony for Prof Rita Akosua Dickson was held today [Saturday, August 1, 2020] at the Great Hall of KNUST. The ceremony was graced by the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Chancellor of the University, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Prof Rita Akosua Dickson was appointed by the university’s Governing Council at its 258th special meeting on Thursday, June 25, 2020, upon acceptance of the report of the search committee for the appointment of a vice-chancellor for the university.
Prior to her new appointment, Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson served as the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the university.
She served as the acting Vice-Chancellor in October 2018 when the then Vice-Chancellor Prof. Obiri Danso was asked to step aside temporarily, after protests by students resulted in violence on campus.
