John Dramani Mahama, the NDC’s flagbearer for the December 2020 elections, has congratulated DWP Academy for featuring in Beyoncé’s Black Is King visual album, which was premiered on Disney+ on Friday, July 31, 2020.
DWP Academy is a dance group that was formed by Dancegodlloyd, Quables and Afrobeast, with the aim of training young and upcoming dancers to help them make a career out of dancing.
The group was among Ghanaian creatives who played a part in the making of the Black Is King visual album.
They featured alongside other dancers in Beyoncé’s Already video with Shatta Wale and Major Lazer.
Featuring in Beyoncé’s project is a huge achievement for DWP Academy, as they also made Ghana proud with their amazing talent.
Their achievement has been recognised by former President John Dramani Mahama, and he has congratulated the group for their role in the project.
“Congratulations DWP Academy,” he wrote on Twitter.
He added: “It’s exciting to see our local talents being recognized for their immeasurable talents & hard work. Across various sectors, it’s very clear Ghana has enormous potential to dominate & rule the world. It’s always, a thing of access & amplification.”
DWP Academy received Mr Mahama’s congratulatory message with much appreciation.
“Thank you, sir! John Dramani Mahama We are indeed honoured to have been chosen to raise the flag of Ghana higher! We appreciate your recognition! God bless the motherland.”
