Benny Bonsu, an award-winning Ghanaian sports broadcaster and producer based in London, has been appointed as the new Director of Daily Content for Olympic Channel.
Olympic Channel is an over-the-top Internet television service operated by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was launched on August 21, 2016, alongside the closing of the 2016 Summer Olympics.
The service aims to maintain year-round interest in the Olympic movement, by showcasing Olympic athletes and competitions outside of the Games proper.
Benny Bonsu, elated by her new appointment, took to Twitter to make the announcement.
“It has been an incredible year with my GMSW team but looking forward to this new opportunity, adding and learning new things with an amazing team of people,” she wrote.

Benny Bonsu is the first female Sports editor in the UK, who is the Head of Editorial for one of the world’s largest sports digital platform GiveMeSport.
She also serves as a board of director for Basketball England and the Westminster Education board in London looking after 250 schools across the UK.
Bonsu has undertaken work for the London 2012 Olympics, Alibaba (AliExpress LIVE), IMG Euro League, BBC World Service, Sky Sports, MTG Africa, BT Sport, and Matchroom Sport.
She is also a huge voice for African basketball players in the NBA and beyond.
In 2018, Bonsu won Best Diaspora Media Personality Award at the Ghana Sports Award 2018. She was also named Top 100 most influential African woman by ‘Okay Africa’ and nominated for the Sports Woman of the Year by the Batons Award in 2018. In 2017, the Women’s Sports Trust named her as Top 5 Media Personality of the Year.
Benny Bonsu is also a seasoned humanitarian who is recognised globally as an emerging leader with the courage to lead change on the African continent, UK and Asia using sport. Bonsu has a strong commitment to education, women and girls empowerment through sport. She is a UN Women Ambassador for end violence against women.
