Director Zack Snyder treated fans to a brand new clip of Justice League: The Snyder Cut during his panel at JusticeCon this weekend.
The never- before-seen clip clocks in at approximately only 25 seconds and sees Henry Cavill‘s Superman meeting Alfred Pennyworth (Jeremy Irons) after being revived. Superman can be seen dawning his black suit as he lands and greets a surprised Alfred who is working on his car.
Snyder explained that Cavill’s suit was not actually physically black, and was slightly altered to allow the crew to color-correct it to the desired hue during post. At the time, the studio refused to include the black suit under the impression that it would create a darker atmosphere for the film. “I would argue about the black suit all the time, and they were like, ‘We don’t think it’s a good idea,’” he explained. He added, “I knew it was the correct evolution for him when he rose from the dead, that he would be in the black suit. It just made sense.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the director revealed that he is trying to change the film’s title to Zack Snyder’s Justice League, however legal implications may forbid him from doing so. He also shared that he will only be showing the scenes he shot, “There will be no chance on earth that I will use a shot prior or after I left the movie.” He said, “I would destroy the movie, I would set it on fire before I would use a single frame that I did not photograph. That is a f*cking hard fact.”
