A lot of African countries are working on diversifying their economy.
In Ghana, the government has signed deals with various car manufacturers to either assemble or manufature vehicles in Ghana.
In Kenya, the government is also supporting local production of vehicles, such as Ghana has the Kantanka Automobile.
In a Facebook post, the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency said it was in the process of promoting made in Kenya vehicles.
They are working on up-scaling the Sagak Auto tech plant and build capacity to produce for the local, regional and international markets.
However, the cars are doing little to meet local expectation and not to talk of international standards.
Various social media posts and comments under the Facebook has teased the government for promoting such low grade vehicle.
They tried, didn’t they?
