Ghana’s COVID-19 Cases Rise To 30,366 After 694 New Infections

Ghana has recorded 694 new COVID-19 cases, the Ghana Health Service has confirmed in its latest update on Friday, July 24, 2020.

The new cases have now taken the total case count to 30,366.

According to the Ghana Health Service, the 694 new cases were reported on July 20, 2020, and are samples that were taken from the period June 11 to July 19, 2020.

The update also indicated that the number of recovery/discharged cases have increased to 26,687, while the death toll still remains at 153.

The number of active cases, however, stand at 3,526.

The Ghana Health Service further indicated that 26 persons are in severe condition, 6 are in critical condition and 4 are on ventilators.

Greater Accra Region still leads with cases 15,863, Ashanti Region is second with 7,026 cases, Western Region – 2,361, Central Region – 1,269, Eastern Region – 1,164, Volta Region – 538, Bono Region – 421, Bono East Region – 413, Northern Region – 302, Western North Region – 298, Upper East Region – 282, Oti Region – 172, Ahafo Region – 116, Upper West Region – 75, Savannah Region – 57 and North East Region – 9.
