1.1 Based on decisions taken at the 67th academic board meeting held on July 15, 2020, Management wishes to announce to the continuing students, some guidelines to complete the second semester of the 2019/2020 academic year.
1.2 However, this information is in anticipation of further easing of restrictions to complete the second semester of the current 2019/2020 academic year by the Government and therefore is subject to modification which shall be published in due time.
1.3 As at Monday, July 20, 2020, there are twenty-seven thousand six hundred and sixty-seven (27,667) confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ghana. Greater Accra Region accounts for more than 55% of all cases. Mindful of our location vis-à-vis the increasing case count in the Greater Accra Region, Management
has decided on the following:
1.3.1 Academic work will continue for the next four weeks for continuing students following a central timetable from Monday, July 27, 2020, to Friday, August 21, 2020;
1.3.2 Specifically, online teaching will be delivered through zoom platform and on the LMS during the stipulated four weeks period for all continuing students;
1.3.3 Deans and HODs are to ensure compliance with the above measures and monitor the academic activities on zoom and on the LMS;
1.3.4 Lecturers are advised to record all their zoom sessions and evidence of student engagement on the LMS for verification by the Quality Assurance Department;
1.4 All examinations will be conducted on campus, strictly adhering to the examination timetable and the COVID-19 preventive measures published on Friday, July 10, 2020.
1.5 All final year students on the Non-Tertiary programmes who are due to write
external examinations will continue lectures/tutorials/revision until their examination is due.
The University community is therefore kindly urged to take note of the current arrangements to complete the 2019/2020 academic year.
