The Minister of Education Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has made a full recovery after contracting coronavirus.
The minister was admitted to the University of Ghana Medical Centre when he became severely ill from COVID-19 infection.
Today, the minister took to fACEBOOK to share photos of himself and others who have all recovered from the virus.
He shared the photos with the hope of fighting the stigmatization COVID-19 survivors experience.
“As a society, we must do more to avoid stigmatizing those who contract and recover from the dreadful Covid-19 virus,” the minister said.
“Those who survive it have a story to tell, and it is not a pretty one. We must not make it worse for them by stigmatizing and then ostracising them,” he added.
Ghana has confirmed 26,125 cases, with 22,270 recoveries. 139 people have lost their lives after catching the virus.
