Ghanaians are talented people and we know it. We always try to shine wherever we are despite the circumstances surrounding us and that’s what makes us strong people.
I compiled this list because I wanted to shed light on the people pushing our culture to the world. These people just honed in on the various talents they have and despite some of the many struggles they faced along the way, they still managed to let their art be seen and heard.
In my list, I have photographers like Kofi Setordji, models like Hamamat, musicians like Wiyaala and painters and sculptors as well.
Kwame Akoto Bamfo, a Ghanaian artist who has spent 6 years sculpting about 1,300 heads that depict the dehumanizing trade manipulation and exploitation which happened from the 16th to 19th century and Constance Elizabeth Swaniker, the woman who established Accents and Art Limited, the premier supplier of ironmongery in Ghana and arguably, West Africa are some of my favourites on this list.
