VW is now assembling some of its sought after vehicles right here in Ghana. The assembly plant has started making ready to drive vehicles available.
Some of the vehicles have starting prices from GHS 60,000 and above.
Once you buy these cars from their showrooms, you have no business with duty, just drive it to the DVLA offices and get your registration, road worthy and vehicle insurance and hit the road!
VW has six of their models ready for the market and before you make your decision we thought we should run you through the specs…
The Polo Sedan, which is selling for GHS 86,325 ($15,000) has 6-speed automatic transmission, low fuel consumption, multifunction steering wheel, air cleaner for dusty neighborhoods, among others.
The Polo Hatchback comes with a 1.6L Petrol engine, 5-speed manual transmission, cruise control system, power steering, tire pressure monitoring system, mobile phone interface and other key features. The comfort line is going for GHS 62,729 ($10,900) and the trendline is going for GHS 57,492 ($9,990).

The 5 seater Tiguan and the 7 seater Tiguan All Space are also available. They are 2.0L turbo petrol engine, Vienna leather seating surfaces, safety cage, child seat anchor points, forward collision warning and auto emergency braking and complete with VW digital cockpit. For this car, the trendline is going for GHS 161,140 ($28,000) while the Highline is going for GHS 212,935 ($37,000)
It also has The All New Touareg, a flagship like never seen before. According to VW, it is a mix between spaceship and SUV.
It comes with reverse camera, front and rear sensors, push start/stop buttons and keyless entry, driver assistant systems, tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof with rear panoramic sunroof and other really cool features. The car is selling for GHS 486,297 ($84,500).

The JETTA sedan is also available. That is a 1.6L petrol engine, multifunction steering wheel, intelligent crash response system, rain-sensing windshield system, a cool touchscreen radio and others. It is going for GHS 129,487 ($22,500).
The Luxury Passat Sedan is also available. The vehicle is going for GHS 165,744 ($28,000) and it has 2.5L petrol engine, voice control, multifunctional steering wheel, reverse camera, safety cage, push start/stop button, sports comfort seat, park distance control and other features.
