Actor and politician John Dumelo has condemned the violence at registration centers in his constituency, Ayawaso West Wuogon.
In a statment, he said the constituency has once again become a scene of violence and assaults. This is alluding to the violent that ensued in 2019 during the by election that elected his opponent Lydia Alhassan.
John Dumelo, issued the statement after some agents were reportedly physically abused.
“The John Dumelo for MP 2020 Campaign team wished to serve notice to the siting MP – Madam Lydia Alhassan that it is her duty to promote peace and serenity in the constituency,” a strongly worded statement from his team said.
“Her campaign that is bound to fail must not be seen to tacitly approve and profit from the violence being perpetrated on the innocent constituents of Ayawaso West Wuogon in the ongoing registration exercise,” it added.
The election is getting heated. Stay safe out there, it’s not worth dying for a politician.
