Four teenagers between the ages of 15 and 19 have officially been charged with the murder of Pop Smoke.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced today that Corey Walker and Keandre Rogers, currently aged 19 and 18 respectively, have each been charged with murder, with the special circumstance allegation that the murder occurred during the commission of a robbery and burglary, thus making them eligible for the death penalty.

Walker and Rogers face either the death penalty or life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted as charged. However, prosecutors have not decided yet on whether capital punishment will be sought.

The other two defendants were unnamed male juveniles aged 17 and 15 and were each charged with one count of murder and robbery in juvenile court.

The defendants are accused of breaking into a home in the Hollywood Hills where Pop Smoke, real name Bashar Barakah Jackson, was staying and was shot and killed on February 19 at approximately 4:00 a.m.

The Los Angeles Police Department will continue to investigate this case.
