Adebayo Akinfenwa gave God all the praise on the pitch in Wembley after his club, Wycombe Wanderers, made history in Monday’s League One play-off final.
Wycombe Wanderers secured promotion to play in the Championship for the first time in 133 years after defeating Oxford United 2-1.
Akinfenwa, who is also known as ‘the beast striker’, went on his knees after the game to thank God for this achievement.
It was not just about the prayer, but it is more of the emotion, passion and the reason behind it, as both Akinfenwa and Wycombe have been through a lot to be able to attain this feat.
Akinfenwa joined Wycombe Wanderers in 2016 after leaving Wimbledon.
He has scored 10 goals in 32 appearances in the 2019-20 season for Wycombe.
His contract, however, with Wycombe expires at the end of the season.
