Jurgen Klopp’s importance to Liverpool Football Club cannot be overstated.

The German coach has completely transformed the team following his arrival in October 2015.

Over the last five years, Klopp has inspired the Reds to glory in both the Champions League and, of course, the Premier League.

By ending Liverpool’s 30-year wait for a league title, Klopp will forever be regarded as a hero by the club’s fiercely passionate supporters.

The last thing they want to see is Klopp suddenly deciding to walk away – but all good things come to an end.

In an interview with German publication SWR Sport – via the Mirror – Klopp has revealed when he plans to walk away from Anfield.

The 53-year-old says he intends to continue managing the Reds for the next four seasons – up until 2024, when his contract expires – before returning to Germany.

On how long he’ll remain at Anfield, Klopp responded: “Four years in Liverpool.”

When asked if he plans to return to Germany, he added: “Definitely to live, after my career. Most likely even to Mainz”.

Klopp also hinted that he may take a sabbatical after leaving Liverpool, admitting he would like to “do nothing for a year”.

He then confirmed that he may be interested in returning to management, although added that retirement could be an option.

“In five years the world can look very different again,” he said.
