The Weeknd & Kendrick Lamar Got Sued Over A Song. But It Got Dropped??

The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar collaborated on the single Pray For Me, on the Black Panther Movie Soundtrack. The entire soundtrack was produced and curated by the latter—Kendrick Lamar.

However, the artiste duo, the song’s producers, as well as both artiste’s record labels; Interscope, Aftermath, and Top Dawg Entertainment got sued by a band called Yeasayer. According to the band, the song Pray for Me used a distinctive choral performance from the band’s 2007 song Sunrise. You can listen to both songs below.

In court, the Weeknd denied all claims. Currently, the band Yeasayer has voluntarily dropped the lawsuit against The Weeknd over Pray for Me, his contribution to soundtrack of 2018’s Black Panther.
