Ghanaian Producer Juls Invited To Join Grammy Recording Academy

Juls (Julian Nicco-Annan) is a British-Ghanaian record producer, disc jockey, and musician.

Ghanaian record producer, Juls has been invited to join the Grammy Recording Academy as a voting member.

The Recording Academy announced that it has invited more than 2,300 music professionals the join its 2020 new member class. 

The invitees, who come from wide-ranging backgrounds, genres and disciplines, were selected based on their contributions to music and the potential to influence progressive changes within the music industry.

Juls who is excited about the invitation tweeted: “For the culture Recording Academy… any opportunity to push our music and our culture to the masses all over the world I’ll take it!”

Juls recently released his studio project Colour which featured talented musicians like Mr Eazi, Falz, Worlasi, Kojey Radical and Oxlade.

According to the Recording Academy, the 2020 class of invitees is 48 percent female, 21 percent African American/African descent, 8 percent Hispanic, and 3 percent Asian American and Pacific Islander. The representation of this class also spans ages, genre and region. The Recording Academy’s current membership is 26 percent female and 25 percent from traditionally underrepresented communities.
