Thomas Partey has been one of the best midfielders in Europe this season and statistics released by WhoScored.com (a football statistics site) has proved why he deserves to be ranked among the best.
According to WhoScored.com, Thomas Partey completed the best dribble success rate in Europe’s top 5 leagues this season.
In determining the best dribble success rate, the site takes into consideration footballers who have attempted and successfully completed fifty or more dribbles.
Partey, however, recorded a dribble success rate of 88.6%, better than Chelsea’s Mateo Kovacic (86.6%) and Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara (85.5%).
Partey, who currently plays for Atletico Madrid in Spain, has been linked to some of Europe’s elite clubs including Manchester United, Chelsea, PSG and Arsenal. However, Arsenal looks the likeliest destination for him as the club is keen on signing him.
According to reports, Arsenal consider Partey as their main summer transfer target and they are ready to go all out to get him, as they believe he could help improve their squad.
However, former Black Stars midfielder Derek Boateng has advised Partey against moving to Arsenal as he believes the 27-year-old needs to be in a club where he will be happy and also enjoy Champions League football.
