At a Meeting on Wednesday July 01, 2020, Management approved for the completion of the Second Semester of the 2019/2020 Academic Year for continuing students as follows:
In terms of assessment:
That Examiners have completed teaching through the remote online learning platforms.
That Examiners have conducted assignments culminating into continuous assessment of 60 percent. This dispensation is for only this Semester
That Examiners will give 2 questions as take-home examinations which will form 40 per cent of the overall examination mark
That Examiners will upload and receive answers for 1 out of the 2 questions every 2 weeks beginning Monday July 13. 2020 until Friday August 14, 2020. This is intended to reduce the workload on examiners and students during the 1 month period.
That Examiners will NOT use multiple choice questions (MCQ 1).
That Deans and Heads of Department will oversee the nature of questions depending on peculiar fields of Schools/Departments
That students who intend to register and wite trailing courses must immediately contact their Heads of Department on the way forward. That Examiners will disseminate questions on the Moodle platform and inform Course Representatives to further relay the information to their classes.
That examiners will have to indicate to students the mode of submission of take home examination/assignments, either through the organisational email or the Moodle platform for easy tracking
As part of the internal quality assurance system, submitted assignments/take home examination would be audited at the end of marking
Students who genuinely cannot take part in the take-home examination/assignments must contact their heads of department and register their names and defer the courses to the next available time examinations will be conducted
