Thomas Partey Advised Against Moving To Arsenal

Former Black Stars midfielder, Derek Boateng has advised Thomas Partey not to move to Arsenal, as he believes the Atletico star deserves to be at a better club that will constantly feature in the UEFA Champions League.

Partey has been linked to some of Europe’s elite clubs including Manchester United, Chelsea, PSG and Arsenal. However, Arsenal looks like the likeliest destination for him as the club is keen on signing him.

According to reports, Arsenal consider Partey as their main summer transfer target and they are ready to go all out to get him, as they believe he could help improve their squad.

But Derek Boateng thinks Partey needs to be in a place where he will be happy and also enjoy Champions League football.

He has, however, advised Partey against signing for Arsenal, indicating that the London club has not been at their best in recent years.

“He needs to be at a place where he will be happy, respected and get a lot of playing time. You can make all the money you want but if the coach doesn’t play you, you won’t be happy,” Boateng said in an interview with Joy FM.

“I will not advise him to move to Arsenal right now because he is a Champions League player and with the look of the Arsenal team right now, they are not ready with the kind of players they have and some are going to move.”

“They are playing very well but you can see the inexperience hurting them and with the way the Premier League is going right now, it is going to be really tough. If he wants to move, he has to move to a team that plays in the Champions League otherwise he will lose everything,” he added.
