Jordan Ayew has stated that surpassing Tony Yeaboah’s Premier League goalscoring record is a great achievement.
Ayew became the highest Ghanaian goalscorer in the Premier League after netting a superb tap-in for Crystal Place against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on June 6, 2020.
The goal was his 25th Premier League goal and that took him above Tony Yeboah who scored 24 goals for Leeds United.
In an interview with Sky Sports, the 28-year-old stated that: “Tony Yeboah is massive, maybe the best striker of all-time in Ghana.
“So to beat his total and get to 25 goals in the Premier League is a great achievement for me and my family,” he added.
Jordan Ayew has been one of Crystal Palaces’ best players this season. His is currently the leading scorer for Crystal Palace this season with 9 goals.
Jordan’s goals have come against top English teams like Manchester United and Arsenal. He has also scored against his former club Aston Villa, West Ham, Watford and Brighton.
