The coronavirus pandemic is taking a huge toll on Ghana.
This week alone, we have lost the CEO of the Forestry Commission and it has just been announced that a high profile Medical Doctor has also passed away.
The doctor is Dr Richard Kisser.
He was a consultant surgeon at the Trust Hospital which is owned by the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).
A Consultant Surgeon is a senior doctor who has overall responsibility for the care of patients in a hospital. Dr Kisser would have completed a minimum of six years training in their speciality area to gain a certificate of completion of training (CCT) and listing on the General Medical Council’s specialist register.
Dr Kisser passed away yesterday (Thursday) July 2 at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
According to a statement from The Trust Hospital, he passed away due to COVID-19 complications.
RIP Covid Hero.
