Very soon, international travelers to and from Kumasi and the northern part of Ghana would not have to visit Accra before heading to their various destinations.
Last May, we reported that despite the coronavirus pandemic, work on the Kumasi International airport was progressing.
The contractors have been given a 2021 deadline to hand over the project.
When completed, Kotoka International Airport would be relieved of some of the international travel traffic both to or from Ghana.
When it is completed, almost 1 million passengers are expected to walk through its terminals each year.
Thanks to this artistic impression video, we get to have a feel of how the airport would operate once it’s ready for use.
The Kumasi borgers will not be coming to Accra anymore, unless they need to.
