Yesterday, Akuapem Poloo brought the first half of the year to a rather awkward end.
She had shared photos to celebrate her son’s birthday.
She appeared nude in the photos and it started a social media uproar.
As the day drew to a close, police had gotten involved and they were apparently investigating Akuapem Poloo.
It was around the time that the news of the police involvement broke that a certain Twitter handle called Baby___Jet sent a tweet.
The tweet called on the police to arrest the killers of the murdered journalist Ahmed Scale before arresting Akuapem Poloo.
Certain blogs picked up the tweet and run a story claiming Asamoah Gyan, the footballer, was behind the account and attributed the statement to him.
Now, a verified Asamoah Gyan account @Asamoah_Gyan3 has issued a statement condemning the tweet.
“I will not countenance this, neither will I allow you ruin my image and reputation..the law will take it’s course,” the verified Asamoah Gyan account tweeted.
“In the mean time treat this as fake, again to the media and bloggers, my handle is verified please desist from making news out of unscrupulous accounts,” he added.
This tweet was accompanied by a statement that called the impersonation of Asamoah Gyan on Twitter a criminal act.
