Free The Youth in Collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), in partnership with the African Fashion Foundation, is raising awareness of biodiversity in Ghana for World Environmental Day.
“With so much change and uncertainty in the world today, it has never been more crucial to come together to preserve that which connects & holds space for us every day – our environment, the air we breathe, water, land, plants, animals, our food chains & creative economy – are all central to the survival of our planet, our health & wellbeing. We must also unite in the preservation of our environment”, Co-Founder of Free the Youth, Joey Lit wrote in an Instagram post.
World Environment Day is celebrated on 5 June every year and is the United Nations’ principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of our environment.
The United Nations Environment Programme is responsible for coordinating the UN’s environmental activities and assisting developing countries in implementing environmentally sound policies and practices.
