Beyoncé is set to release new visuals for her visual album Black Is King, a project, written and executively produced by Beyoncé.

The album is based on the music of The Lion King: The Gift, the Beyoncé-curated soundtrack album for the Lion King animated remake released last July, in which she voiced the character of Nala.

Ghana plays a major role in the visual album, this is because parts from the visual album was shot in Ghana. The Team was lead by Ghanaian-American creative entrepreneur Joshua Kissi.

In a Twitter post he wrote, “I was tapped to contribute and direct the Ghana portion of the film there was nothing like contributing to this vision through narratives on the ground in my home country. This wouldn’t be possible without my on the ground Ghana team!

“The visual album from Beyoncé reimagines the lessons of The Lion King for today’s young kings and queens in search of their own crowns,” reads the statement from Disney and from Beyoncé’s company, Parkwood Entertainment.
