Yesterday everyone went into shock after we saw the video released by the police in Dubai on how they took down Nigerian celebrity, Hushpuppi.
He was arrested on multiple fraud charges for crimes committed in several parts of the world, amounting to 1.6 billion dirhams (That’s over 2 billion in Ghana cedis)
Although he was referred to as Abbas Ramoni Olorunwa in the Dubai video detailing his arrest, Nigerian media report that he was actually born Raymond Igbalode.
Reports state he was born in Nigeria on the 14th of June but his Instagram posts suggest, he celebrates his birthday on October 11th.
His age is unknown but, he’s mentioned he’s in his 30s.
He was born and raised in Lagos state before relocating to Malaysia where he suddenly became wealthy.
He’s based in Dubai but travels around the world a lot on his private jet.
It is alleged that his father is a taxi driver and his mother, a baker however Hushpuppi has never confirmed or denied this.
He is known as a philanthropist and according to his Instagram bio, he’s a real estate developer.
He’s a huge fan of the Gucci brand and is believed to be one of the brand’s VIP customers.
He’s a “social media motivator”. He usually motivates young people to work hard and endure the struggle because it will pay off in the end. It’s one of the reasons he’s an easy role model for lots of young Nigerians.
He admitted he used to be a gambler and people think that’s how he probably came into wealth.
He has two kids, a boy and a girl from different baby mamas.
His nicknames include “Aja Puppi” a.k.a “Aja 4” and The Nigerian Dark Horse because of his unexpected success.
He became popular from his display of wealth on social media as well as his feuds with celebrities online including Davido at some point, Ice Prince, Timaya and more.
He’s also known for being friends with a number of celebrities worldwide by hanging out with them and sharing on his social media.
