Professor (Mrs) Rita Akosua Dickson has been appointed as the new vice-chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
She was appointed by the university’s Governing Council at its 258th special meeting on Thursday June 25, 2020, upon the acceptance of the report of the search committee for the appointment of a vice-chancellor for the university.
The Professor of Pharmacognosy will be the vice-chancellor of KNUST for the next four years, with effect from August 1, 2020. She takes over from Professor Obiri Danso.
Prior to her new appointment, Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson served as the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the university.
She served as the acting Vice-Chancellor in October 2018 when the then Vice-Chancellor Prof. Obiri Danso was asked to step aside temporarily, after protests by students resulted in violence on campus.
