Namibia’s Latoya Mwoombola has her feet in two amazing worlds.
She is a medical doctor whose services has taken on a new level of importance due to the coronavirus.
Namibia has currently recorded 63 coronavirus cases, 21 recoveries and no deaths.
With relatively lower numbers, the doctors in the country, including Latoya, have been ensuring that they provide the best care to their patients.
However, when Latoya takes off her scrubs and stethoscope, she goes into the studio to record her rap songs.
Last year, Latoya was one of the young musicians who were taken by Mr Eazi to a 3-week business of music masterclass in South Africa.
Lioness, as Latoya is known in Showbiz, has an album called ‘Pride of CliQ’. She has been releasing music videos from the album, much to the admiration to her fans in Namibia.
According to Lioness, she was introduced to music by her sister.
However, she quickly realized that she couldn’t sing and she didn’t want to give up on music which she had come to love.
As a result, she did the next thing she could do – she picked up rapping instead of singing.
That was her beginning on a journey that often meant she had to juggle medical school and studio sessions.
Lioness graduated from the Unam School of Medicine with honors in a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBCHB).
From all indications, she is not giving up any of her professions.
