Arsenal defender, Hector Bellerin has pledged to plant 3,000 trees for every game that the London club wins until the end of the 2019-20 Premier League season.

Bellerin stated that the project is “to help combat the carbon emission issues we have”.

The project will result in trees planted in the Amazon Rainforest.

Bellerin is undertaking this project in partnership with One Tree Planted — a non profit organisation.

“I care deeply about making a positive impact for future generations. We need healthy places to play outdoors and where biodiversity can thrive in nature. Thanks to support from the team and fans, we can plant lots of trees together!” Bellerin said in a statement on the project’s website.

Arsenal will face Manchester City tonight [June 17, 2020] in the Premier League restart after it was suspended in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Fans can also contribute to this project and help plant more trees to make the biggest possible impact for the environment.
