Akon City: Musician Akon Secures $6 Billion To Build Futuristic City In Senegal

There’s been a buzz around Akon’s construction of his own city for a while. Here is what’s happening with that. The Senegalese-American singer has entered into a contract with an engineering and consulting firm, KE International which is based in the US. The firm has raised $4 billion from investors for the construction. Akon has also partnered with entrepreneur and inver=stor Julius Mwale.

The first phase of construction of Akon City is expected to be finished by the end of 2023. This phase of construction will include roads, a hospital campus, a mall, a police station, a waste facility, a school, and a power plant.

The second phase of construction will end in 2029. And this phase will focus on integrating businesses to run on Akon’s cryptocurrency: AKOIN. There will also be parks, a stadium, universities, and an industrial complex in Akon City.

The entire construction for Akon City is expected to be completed by 2030.
