The Champions League semi-final match between Tottenham Hotspurs and Ajax was an emotional affair. The stakes were set; very high. The winner of the match would proceed to the Champions League finals to face Liverpool for the cup.
Going into game two, Tottenham was down 1-0, from the first leg of the semi-final fixtures. And things got even worse for them. A fifth-minute header by 19-year-old Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt doubled the advantage for Ajax. And then like a bad joke, Ajax scored a third goal (on aggregate).
Things looked bleak for Tottenham. That is until Moura scored not one, not two, but three goals to tie the match at 3-3. And, as a result of the away goals ruling, Tottenham went on to the finals. It was a very exciting match, and a very emotional event in general. Lukas Moura still treasures that ball.
