Ahafo Region Records First Coronavirus Case

The Ahafo Region has recorded its first coronavirus case, the Ghana Health Service confirmed in its latest update.

This, however, means that all of Ghana’s 16 regions have now recorded COVID-19 cases.

The Ghana Health Service also confirmed that the country’s total COVID-19 cases have increased to 10,201, after 291 new infections were recorded since the last update on June 8, 2020.

The total number of recoveries have also jumped to 3,755, after 110 more patients recovered from the disease.

Meanwhile, the death toll remains at 48.

The active cases currently stand at 6,398.

COVID-19 Update by the Ghana Health Service

The Greater Accra Region still leads with 6,521 cases, Ashanti Region is second with 1,799 cases, Western Region – 778, Central Region – 539, Eastern Region – 175, Volta Region – 158, Western North Region – 74, Upper East Region – 42, Oti Region – 38, Northern Region – 37, Upper West Region – 22, Bono East Region – 13, North East Region – 2, Savannah – 1, Bono Region – 1 and Ahafo Region – 1.
