Ghanaians on social media have called for a change in attitude among citizens as the way forward in solving the issue of perennial floods in Accra.
Some parts of Accra are flooded following hours of rains which started during the late hours of Monday, June 8, 2020.
According to reports, areas such as Adabraka, Graphic Road, Agbgbloshie and Dansoman have been affected by the rains.
The Ghana Meteorological Agency, however, has warned of a rainstorm which is expected to hit the eastern and coastal areas of the country today, Tuesday, June 9, 2020.
Amidst all this, some Ghanaians took to social media to share their thoughts on the issue of floods that keeps occurring in Accra every year.
While some people criticised the current and previous governments for not finding permanent solutions to the issue of floods in Accra, others are of the view that citizens are to be blamed.
According to them, the indiscipline of some Ghanaians is the reason why Accra keeps experiencing floods.
They stated that governments do their best to construct drainages in flood-prone areas, only for the citizens in those areas fill the drainages with filth, which eventually causes the floods.
To be able to end the issue of floods in Accra, some of the social media posts advised Ghanaians to change their attitude and be more responsible.
