VIDEO: George Floyd’s Family Gives A Standing Ovation To Ghana & President Akufo Addo

George Floyd died on May 25 in Minneapolis after a police officer knelt on his neck

Today, millions mourners from around the world joined the family of George Floyd for a memorial ceremony.

It marks the last of a series of events that would lead to his interment in Texas.

During the memorial, a representative of the family read out an appreaciation state to Ghana and President Akufo Addo.

This is a major Public Relations moment for the country in the international space.

They thanked the President for his tribute to George Floyd and for the decision to have George Floyd’s name permanently written at the W.E.B Dubois Centre here in Accra.

George Floyd was murdered on May 25 by white police officers in the streets of Minneapolis after he reportedly purchased an item with a fake $20 bill.
