The Electoral Commission has confirmed the final date on which they will start compiling names for the new voter’s register.

In case you had no idea, the Electoral Commission has determined that the register used for the 2016 elections cannot be used for this year’s elections.

As a result it would be conducting another exercise where all Ghanaians, 18 years and above, can register to vote.

It would also mean that the voter’s ID you currently have will become invalid.

For this, even if you do not want to vote, you must make sure to go register come June 30 for the card.

The card is used for banking transactions and other key transactions that requires a national identity card.

Statement from the EC

June 30, go to a registration centre near you and get your card.
