Arsenal midfielder, Mesut Ozil has granted the “absolute dream” of a fan who has been diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a nervous system disease that weakens muscles and impacts physical function.
The fan sent a tweet asking Mesut Ozil for an autographed Arsenal jersey. He described having an Arsenal jersey autographed by Mesut Ozil as one of his absolute dreams.
“One of my absolute dreams is to have Mesut Ozil send me an autographed Arsenal kit!” he wrote.
Mesut Ozil, however, noticed the fan’s tweet and is now in touch with him. Ozil also revealed that an autographed Arsenal jersey will be soon delivered to the fan.
“Thanks to everyone for tagging me in this tweet. I’m in touch with him now. Horrible news, stay strong my friend – prayers go out to you and your family. A signed jersey will be soon on its way,” Ozil tweeted.
In December 2019, Ozil sent Arsenal and M1Ö jerseys to a juvenile club in the Eastern Region of Ghana that is named after him.
The name of the club is Abiriw Ozil Football Club.
“Nice to have a football club named after me in the Eastern Regional town of Abiriw in Ghana. Glad to see you all smiling in the Arsenal & #M1Ö shirts,” he said in a tweet.
