Borussia Dortmund have followed the lead of clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea to show their support for the Black Lives Matter movement and also call for justice over the death of George Floyd.

Two Dortmund players, Jadon Sancho and Achraf Hakim staged their personal protests on Sunday, May 31, 2020, when they both celebrated their goals in Borussia Dortmund’s 6-1 victory over Paderborn by revealing t-shirts displaying the message “Justice for George Floyd”.

Today, the Dortmund team, like Chelsea, took a knee is a special and touching way.

They knelt to form the heart symbol to represent love.

“We, Borussia Dortmund, fully support the #BlackLivesMatter Movement,” a tweet by the clubs Twitter account stated.

The club added: “We do not accept racism of any kind and will continue to work to make the world a better and more tolerant place.”
